The Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ) bursary scheme is offering tertiary bursaries for 2026 to deserving applicants who reside in the KwaZulu Natal province.
Undergraduate Degrees:
If you are currently a Matriculant, or if you have already passed obtained National Senior Certificate and achieved at least 65 % overall year mark and you would like to study at a recognised university in one of the disciplines listed below, this bursary scheme could be just what you are looking for.

Consideration will focus on the Study Fields listed below:
- Engineering: Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Metallurgical and Electronics, Surveying and Architecture,energy solutions.
- Maritime, Environmental, Geology, Marine and Agriculture.
- Finance and Economics, Accounting, Commerce, Actuarial Science.
- Information Technology, Geographic Information System, Data and Computer Science.
- Supply Chain, Graphic Design, Community Development and Social Sciences.
We will be assess applications on both academic merit and financial need. Depending on your performance, you may be selected for an assessment programme.
The bursary is renewable on an annual basis dependent on the bursar’s academic performance and conduct.
